Notes | FAQ

  • If you are short of time, you can also use ice cubes instead of freezing the fresh mangoes or you can refrigerate the lassi after blending.
  • If you feel the lassi to be too thick, you can add little water or milk while blending.
  • Using full fat yogurt is recommended to achieve the best taste. I used plain whole milk yogurt. If you are really trying to cut down on fat, then you can use low-fat yogurt
  • Mango should be fully ripe to give the best taste. Fresh ripe mangoes are the best, but if you outside the mango season, canned mango pulp or mango puree should work fine.
  • You can also increase the quantity of mango and skip the sugar to make it healthier. Or use alternative sweetener of your choice.
  • Different varieties of mangoes do exist. To make a delicious mango lassi you would need one of the best indian mangoes like alphonso mangoes or what you get locally.
  • You can optionally use saffron strands for garnish.
  • If your yogurt is thick, add a little milk to thin it out, but maintaining the creamy consistency
  • If looking for a vegan mango lassi, you can replace yogurt with a cold milk like almond milk. But it will taste more like a mango milkshake than an indian mango lassi recipe
